The Chicago Hornets?

Charlotte? New Orleans? Oklahoma City?

According to this Sports Illustrated article, it may be Chicago that finally finds the Hornets a permanent home.

So what does this mean to me? Well, two things. First, while I'm not much of an NBA fan and I will always be a Bulls fan first, the addition of a second team - one possibly located in the suburbs - would bring the most excitement to Chicago basketball since Jordan, Pippen and Jackson left. While that excitement probably wouldn't make me a reborn NBA fan, it would definitely make me enough of a fan to watch more than the one game a month I watch during an average regular season.

The second thing this means to me is, of course, I have a chance to come up with a new uniform design. Sweet.

While the Hornets have maintained their team name and colors (sort of) throughout all of their location changes, that hasn't done them a whole lotta good. So I say new city, new name, new logo, new colors.

White wash.

My jumping off point for my design was the Chicago city flag. The design of the flag is flawless and I figured perfect for unification.

Team Name:

Home:

Road:

Alternate:

I tried to avoid highlighting the red in the home and road jerseys because of the association to the Bulls, but the red alternate just looked too good not to include.
